Emerald and diamond necklace, circa 1820 and later

Designed as a graduated series of faceted and polished emerald beads, between open work navette-shaped links set with old mine-cut, pear- and cushion-shaped diamonds, length approximately 385mm, composite.

Metal tested as silver and gold. Emeralds medium light green, different saturation, some typical crystal inclusions visible to naked eye, some are surface reaching, some scratches, nicks and chips. Polished and faceted emeralds. Diamonds bright and lively. Well articulated. Secure clasp, of later date. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with age. In good condition.
