Condition

This lovely depiction of the Virgen del Rosario is relined and would greatly benefit from cleaning and conservation. There is extensive craquelure throughout the painting. There is a puncture measuring 1in above the Virgin's crown. Some of the stretcher and canvas are missing on the upper right hand corner. There is a 2 ½ in. puncture line on the stretcher bar on the left margin. It has a 9 in. crack on bottom left side of Virgin's dress. The right quadrant, specifically the right edge and corner, of the canvas has becomes unstuck from its backing. There is a 5 in. puncture at the bottom of right corner of the Christ child's skirt. Extensive areas of re painting are present especially on upper right hand side corner.
