Catalogue Note
Harry and Yvonne Lenart were active supporters and benefactors of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and donated a number of important Indian and Southeast Asian objects. The Lenart Indian and Southeast Asian Collection was in part curated by their close friend, Dr. Pratapaditya Pal, who also wrote the catalogue for the Lenart LACMA exhibition of 1972, The Divine Presence, which featured many works in the current sale. Proceeds of all the property from the Lenart Collection included in this sale will go toward charitable foundations which support various educational institutions.
