The canvas is not lined. RECTO: A close examination reveals scattered small networks of stable shrinkage and associated minor spots of paint-loss. Examination under UV light reveals an intermittent line of fluorescence, possibly retouching, along the lower left and bottom edge as well as a small vertical line in the left part of the composition. There are also four small spots of retouching on the upper arm of the left figure. There is a thick varnish which prevents further examination. This work is in fairly good condition. VERSO: A close examination reveals some minor scattered spots of paint-loss located in the beige pigment. There is no evidence of retouching visible under UV light. This work is in good original condition.
