Condition

This work is in generally good condition. The work was conserved in 1986 and the treatment at that time comprised restretching the picture with a new stretcher that has adjustable springs for its keys, and relining with wax. The back of the lining has a mylar sheet affixed to it. Under UV: about 10 - 15 pindots of inpainting are visible in the sky. There is a thin scratch to the surface at upper right which shows some restoration. Otherwise fine. There is more blue pigments in the sky and the colors are more saturated in the original than in the catalogue illustration.
