Condition

Movement will require restorations, it is incomplete, without the string for fusée and chain, pinions and wheels will also need some adjustments. Dial is well preserved with original engraving and silver chapter ring to the centre. Case shows some signs of wear due to aging, the band has nice engraving pattern, a later modified aperture to the back for the winding of the movement. Previously was sold by Christie's, 5 June 1962, lot 154. Overall this is an interesting piece from the 'puritan style' of the period. The patina is very well preserved.
