• cal. 13''' nickel lever manual winding movement, 23 jewels • silvered dial, applied Breguet numerals, two subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds and 30-minute register, outer tachometer scale • two rectangular chronograph pushers, concave bezel, presentation engraving to the snap back • case, dial and movement signed by maker, case further hand-stamped with Cartier reference numbers

The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. The printing and signature to the dial appear original, and there is some very light spotting just below and to the left of the central arbor, with some additional spotting at the very perimeter of the dial. Some of the gold Breguet numerals have oxidized slightly. The case shows surface scuffs from moderate to more significant wear, though it should be noted that these are mostly quite light, with some opening marks to the profile. The watch appears to have not been polished, with good definition to the hallmarks, inscription and Cartier reference numbers. The case back is engraved 'W.W.A., Christmas, 1947'. The Cartier reference numbers to the back of the lug read 17884. The strap of this watch contains endangered species; please see Important Notices for further information.

During the post-war period, Cartier New York retailed hundreds of Patek Philippe watches for the growing American luxury market. A select few of these watches were complicated such as the presently offered Ref. 130 which was originally purchased for a retail price of $600 just before Christmas in 1947.
