Condition

There is some minor wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are several areas of roughness, some casting flaws, and small apertures to the surfaces, including some holes patched with red wax around the legs and arms. There are a few minor chips to the corners of the base.

Catalogue Note

The contrapposto and broadly handled features of the present figure are consistent with the style of 16th century Venetian sculptors such as Vittoria, Campagna, Aspetti, and Roccatagliata.
