Condition

Relined and under a dirty, discolored old varnish. some old discolored retouching can be seen over a very small tear or scratch in sky at center right and another in water at center foreground between figures. there is generally good retention of the paint surface and nice detail, especially in figures and foreground rocks. under UV: some retouching to sky, mostly concentrated at left side; some retouches scattered on rocks in foreground and a few here and there on figures. painting has not been attended to in a long time and would benefit from a light cleaning and re-addressing of some of the old discolored repaints mentioned above. In an elaborately carved and gilt wood frame.
