Condition
This canvas has been relined. The image was pressed in the process and the canvas weave is visible through the paint surface. This is not distracting, however, and the image presents itself well. The paint surface is stable and in overall good state. There is one small area of loss in the upper left corner, where the white ground shows through. Under UV, there are numerous, small touches throughout the sky and waterfall. These have been well and carefully applied and the picture can be hung as is without further conservation. In a carved and gilt wood frame.
