The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This old panel has not been reinforced or in any way corrected on the reverse and the frame also seems to be original to the piece. The panel is slightly curved from top to bottom yet does not appear to be becoming more so. The paint layer is clean and varnished. There are a few tiny retouches visible under ultraviolet light in the upper right and upper left background. But the still life itself and the remainder of the painting are in very good state.
