The circular dial with Arabic numerals, within an octagonal plaque of rock crystal carved with flanking Erotes releasing a pair of doves, within a frame of rose-cut diamonds, completed by a platinum link bracelet, the case and bracelet framed by seed pearls, manual movement, length 6¾ inches, signed P. Brandt, caseback with maker's mark for Ferdinand Verger, French assay mark.

Condition

Inside of case signed Verger France, numbered 5405. The back of the movement engraved on the ratchet wheel, Verger France - (18) Jewels Five (5) adjustments, no serial number for movement. Manual movement, currently running. High grade movement, size 8L, 5 bridge design, rhodium plated, under bridge, covered ratchet wheel, breguet blued steel hairspring, pearl crown, cut bimetallic balance wheel. Outer caseback stamped with two stamps, a French platinum assay mark, watch and case maker mark which is F.V. with a centered tree which denotes Ferdinand Verger (1851-1928), the founder of trade mark 'FV' 1896 - a great jewelry and horology master in the Art Deco period. Beyond 1911 the name 'FV' is inverted to 'V.F.' (Verger Frère) being associated with his two sons George and Henry. The crystal signed P. Brandt at six o'clock. Diamonds are of decorative quality. The pearls are a creamy white shade and exhibit very good luster. In good condition overall.
