Description
- walnut
each with a rectangular back and rope-twist arms terminating in a knot, above a padded seat on spirally turned legs joined by stretchers and feet in the form of a knot, with later gilt-bronze finials
Condition
In very good conserved condition. A very rare model and can be placed immediately. The joints are sound and sturdy.Two finials have a small pin sized hole in each top which is hardly noticeable. One foot is a later replacement.

The knots in the design perhaps allude to a celebrated aristocratic family, the name of which is unidentified to date.
