Description

each painted with three titled and dated panels depicting eruptions of Mount Vesuvius alternating with animal vignettes reserved within an elaborately patterned gilt border, the cover with a gilt recumbent lioness knop, incised X3 mark.

Condition

There is a very fine 1-inch hairline crack forking slightly running parallel about 1/4-inch above the footrim on the side; evident on the underside of the stand but not evident on the interior of the stand. The saucer also has some typical minor stacking wear in the center and some very minor rubbing to gilding. Otherwise, generally in good condition.
