Description

  • 13.5 cm
(gobelet litron et soucoupe) each painted with a gilt circular scroll medallion partially or completely edged with a flower garland on the maroon-brown ground gilt with urns between gilt ribbon and foliate scroll borders at the rim and base, the saucer with a similarly decorated border of further medallions, interlaced L's, date letter mark EE and painter's mark for Antoine Capelle in blue, incised numerals.

Condition

The cup has a 1/2-inch flat chip to the bottom of the footrim, beneath the handle and not apparent on the bottom edge of the cup. There is some minor wear to the gilt dental border of the interior of the cup. The saucer has two pinhead chips to the rim edge. Otherwise both are in good condition.
