painted with scattered colorful flower sprays and sprigs, the spout modelled as a bird's head, the twig-form handle issuing leaves and buds.
Condition
The teapot has a 1-1/2 inch firing fault to the lower part of the body just above the footrim that has extended into a fine hair crack running for approximately 1 inch upwards from the top of the firing fault and downwards through the footrim to the center of the underside. The firing fault had been factory-painted with a leaf to conceal it. The firing crack is visible on the teapot towards its base. There are some typical chips to the tips of the applied leaves.
The cover has an approximate 1/2-inch chip to the underside of the rim, which also shows as a 1/4-inch slice-like chip along the rim edge.
