Condition

The present pine-panelled room is an L-shaped space, though mostly rectangular. It incorporates one set of double doors and five window openings. Please note that there are not sash windows which accompany the window openings. Each window opening has its pair of hinged panelled shutters. There is one chimneypiece and overmantel panel. The majority of the panelling and cornice is of the early 18th century; however, there have been a number of modifications including the additions of three later cabinet panels as well as a number of added vents for the heating/cooling system. Please note that the room also has a number of cut-ins for plugs and switches. There are a few very small panels above the doors and on that side of the wall which are lacking because they were fitted with speakers. Each window opening is approximately 5 feet wide. The height from the floor to the top of the dado rail is approximately 35 ¾ inches high; the height of each window opening to the bottom of the cornice is approximately 5 feet 7 inches high; the height from the floor to the bottom of the cornice is approximately 109 ½ inches high. The height of the room is approximately 119 ½ inches high. There are seven built-in bookcases and five window openings. Two bookcases located adjacent to each other between two windows on the longest side of the room. The width of the door is approximately 56 inches.
