modelled by Johann Valentin Sonnenschein, the elegantly dressed gentleman seated on an upholstered stool with his legs outstretched leaning on a small circular table at his side, interlaced C's in blue, painter's mark for Dominicus Christoph Sausenhofer, incised Fi A.M. N:52.
Condition
The figure is missing the cup on his right hand; his right hand is restored and his index finger is chipped. Both of his feet are restored, possibly covering small chips or breaks.

Catalogue Note
A similar figure holding a cup in his right hand was sold at Sotheby's, London, November 9, lot 80. The same model was also illustrated by Hans Dieter Flach, Ludwigsburger Porzellan, p. 546, cat. no. 337, where the model is referred as "Coffee drinker Guéridon".
