Geoffrey James is one of three or four living Canadian photographers to have received a full retrospective exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada. His work over the past forty years has spanned many subjects and ranged over a great deal of geography: gardens in Italy, Olmstead parks in Canada and the USA (with Lee Friedlander), as well as rural landscapes like this one near Kitchener.
