One of Canada's foremost photo-based artists, Cohen has received the Governor General's Award in the Visual Arts (2005) and the prestigious and inaugural Scotiabank Photography Award (2011). Her work has been acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Australian National Gallery, the National Gallery of Canada, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Bibliothèque nationale de France, among numerous others.
