Condition
Overall excellent condition. The figure has retained the detailed and subtle coloring of the metal original to the piece. With some faint remnants to the tinting of the ivory to the hair portion of the design. The ivory remains in good condition with some surface dirt and very slight darkening, most apparent in the hands of the sculpture. There is also a dark discoloration to the single curl to the proper left portion of the figure’s head. The base with some minor edge losses to the bottom edge at the proper left front corner, consistent with age and use. A very good large scale example of Preiss’s work retaining the original deep tones of the of the painted costume.
