Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 8-10 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. The shade leading is beautifully rendered displaying a rich russet brown and green patina. The patinated bronze base is in very good condition, also displaying an exceptionally rich russet brown and green patina, with some occasional light surface scratches and rubbing consistent with age and gentle use. With a few small areas of patina loss to the feet, and with a few small old ink stains to the top of the cushion base. The base with a replaced socket cluster, riser and wheel which have been sensitively patinated to match the base. With period sockets, paddle switches and finial. The shade presents beautifully in person and is distinguished by a highly artistic and nuanced glass selection. The colors are slightly more subtle and varied than they appear in the catalogue illustration. The background glass is distinguished by subtle tones of lavender which creates a dynamic contrast to the flowers and stems. The thoughtful glass selection and color palette is painterly and impressionistic, capturing the essence of light radiating through the flower blossoms. A superb example of the model.
