This astonishing specimen presents a rich blue color characteristic to this gem. This blue color is very harmoniously marked by veins of calcite. The overall set reminds us of a bubbling stream of brilliance moreover emphasized by the stone's lovely polish. Sodalite was discovered in 1806. It did not become an ornamental rock until 1891 when important fine layered deposits were discovered in Ontario, Canada. Its name derives from its presence of sodium. Well-known for her blue hue, sodalite can also be found in gray, yellow, green and even pink. It is often found covered with sports and white (sometimes blue) veins. The six splits in the sodalite can be viewed as six cracks across the mineral. This amazing specimen presents a deep blue. As a characteristic of this gem, we have presented it here with an interesting exterior polish. The mineral rests on a base, allowing it to appear like a sculpture, view on all angles and sides. (nice polish and perfect condition).
