The Platecarpus, a marine reptile, was probably a common inhabitant of the inner western sea of Kansas. It was mid-sized, reaching around 7 meters long. Compared to the Tylosaurus, the Platecarpus had narrower teeth, suggesting that it hunted smaller prey or those of a softer consistency such as small fish or squid. Complete specimen, excellent mineralization. Presented with a base (exceptional, very good condition).
