Description
- Diamonds, gold and silver
Of open work scroll design set with circular-cut and rose, diamonds, to a back of knife-edge linking, highlighted at intervals with rose diamonds in quatrefoil motifs, length approximately 390mm, numbered, French assay and maker's marks, central motif detachable can be worn as a brooch, with brooch and hair fittings, fitted case, together with an original drawing of the jewel.
Condition
Mounted in silver and gold, stamped with French assay marks for 18 carat gold. Numbered 10650. Most of the stones in the piece are rose diamonds, the principal diamonds weighing approximately 1.80 - 2.00 carats, estimated colour H-J, estimated clarity SI-I. In good condition. Fitted case stamped to the exterior with the monogram M.L.C. in gold and inside "Michelon Frères Joailliers Montpellier", probably later black velvet interior, containing three fittings including brooch and hair fitting. Case with scratches to exterior, wood to lid cracked on one side. Together with an original drawing of the jewel on waxed paper, showing the elements of the jewel and how they detach and how they might be worn.
