the front carved with arabesques and caryatids, on lion paw feet, the sides with metal handles, some later restorations

Condition
In overall good conserved condition. Later hinges. There is an infilled section to the left side of the top and to the right hand side of the back. The floor of the chest has been replaced. The small wooden elements above the paw feet are later additions. Chips, marks and scratches throughout consistent with age and use. A very decorative piece with an interesting history.
