with pierced gilt-metal mounts and carrying handles, the fall opening to reveal an interior of architectural form and fitted with parcel-gilt and horn inlaid cupboards and drawers, now raised on a 19th century carved walnut and parcel-gilt stand

Condition

Impressive and very decorative. Wear and old damage consistent with age and use. Traces of old worm with some filler to these sites. Mounts tarnished with traces of old red textile covering. One mount partly loose to top right side of fall. Interior with some losses to mouldings and fragmenting and damage to some hinges. Locking mechanism sticky. Chips and old marks to base. Including an old split to scallopshell on foot. Good colour and very decorative.
