7-inch twelve-piece enamel cartouche dial, the movement with five vase-turned pillars, verge escapement, numbered outside count wheel striking on a bell, signed on the backplate C D G Mesnil A Paris, the waisted case with putto surmount above engraved foliate and trellis inlay to the brown shell veneer, foliate mounts and dolphin feet

Dial has hair crack to VI and chips to XI and XII, good original hands, two holes to lower edge of dial probably originally to hold a plaque. Movement is complete and appears to retain the original wheelwork throughout, running at time of cataloguing but much in need of a clean. Case has old minor losses and repairs to the inlay, mounts generally lacking gilding, staff to putto replaced, otherwise generally good. With pendulum, winder and case key.
