A rare gilt-brass horizontal table clock, South German, circa 1580

4¾-inch dial with twenty-four hour chapter ring and touch pieces, foliate engraved spandrels and centre, the two train fusee movement with iron front plate and gilt-brass backplate, restored verge escapement with foliot and hairspring, the backplate with twenty-four hour count wheel and decorative steel ratchets, the bell mounted between the plates, the moulded case with pierced fret corners and engraved on two sides, G N,  

Dial a little rubed, replaced hand. Movement woul benefit from a clean, restoration to escapement. Gilding rubbed on the case. No winder.
