Description

  • I T impressed on the base of the female figure

traditionally dressed in turbans and long patterned robes trimmed with fur, the male figure leaning on a scimitar, their low mound bases applied with flower and leaf sprays, I T impressed on the base of the female figure (minor chips)

Condition

Male figure: the feather ornament at the front of his turban has been broken off and is lacking, there is also a shallow flake of red enamel missing from the central part of his turban. One side of the curved handle of his side has a hairline crack through it, the other side is chipped/partly lacking. There is minor rubbing to the red enamel on his right slipper. There are some chips and small losses to the extremities of the applied leaves and flowers on the base. There is a firing crack to the base extending for 2cms, from under the right splayed edge of his cloak at the rim to the central air hole. Female figure: the feather ornament at the front of her turban has been broken off and is lacking, There is a minute chip to the tip of her second finger on her right hand. The tips of three of the four leaves applied to the base have small losses. The large fold of her robe just below her waist has some minor losses to the enamels, possibly as a result of a firing flaw.
