Description

  • rosewood
  • sofa: 172cm. wide, 5ft.8in.
comprising six armchairs and a settee, two differently upholstered; reblocked

Condition

Joints sound and sturdy. Some chips and losses to gilding especially on the top rails of the armchairs. The carving is of good quality. The back of one of the arm-chairs has a construction crack in the right side rail. Some very minor chips to carving. Hairline construction cracks at joints which can easily be filled or left. The gilding needs some attention, the upholstery on some of the chairs is missing and the suite will need re upholstering. But once restored these will look most attractive.
