woven with rearing horses and leopards in a landscape setting incorporating an oak tree with birds, all within a distinctive architectural surround flanked by Doric columns on elaborate pedestal bases, with an architrave centred by a blue cabochon and fruiting swag; lacking lower border
Condition
This tapestry is in good professionally restored condition. It has been lined. Later selvedge added. There are areas of rewoven repair, for example to the foreground, and to the left and right sides of the columns, and to both corners (joins visible). Lacking lower border. It is in stable condition. It is a very decorative and dynamic tapestry, of versatile size and vibrant colour.
