A closely related example from the Mrs. James Alsdorf collection was sold at Christie's New York, 3rd June 1993, lot 236. Dishes of this type are more commonly found incised with the bajixiang (Eight Buddhist Emblems) on the exterior; for example see a dish of this size and glaze from the H.M. Knight collection, sold in these rooms, 11th December 1979, lot 335; and a larger example from the Edward T. Chow and Hall Family collections, sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 2nd May 2000, lot 545.
