Description

the globular body supported on a short spreading foot and rising to a tall slightly tapering neck with everted waisted rim, the body and neck with raised fillets and covered overall with a cascading turquoise-blue glaze, pooling with streaks of lavender

Condition

The vase is in good condition with the exception of surface scratchings (ranging circa 2cm to 0.2cm) particularly two 2cm scratches near the lower-mid section of the neck, a 0.2 x 0.1cm burst glaze bubble near the bottom of the vase where the glaze pulls, and other minor glaze firing imperfections such as further burst glaze bubbles etc.

A larger vase of similar form, from the collection of Peter Boode, was sold in these rooms, 13th November 1972, lot 156; and another was sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 29th September 1992, lot 530.
