  • Bamboo
the standing figure dressed in long flowing robes, tied at the waist and falling in folds around his body, with both arms raised and holding a large peach borne on a leafy stem, his face with jovial expression and long beard, the bamboo of a rich reddish-brown patina

Condition

There are various vertical age cracks both to the front and the back of the figure, most prominently a 16cm crack running from Shoulao's nose to his sleeve, a 7cm crack on the forehead, a 9cm crack running from the hand to the belly, and a 8cm crack at the back below the hips. The patina is rubbed in places such as the extremities and other minor nicks.
