naturalistically shaped in the form of a section of a gnarled tree trunk, carved to one face in relief with budding and blossoming prunus branch against a ground of whorls and knots, the underside hollowed out and carved in openwork with two insects hovering amongst further prunus branches, the bamboo patinated to a golden brown tone, with wood stand

Condition

One chip to rim of underside, approximately 12mm wide; and a loss to tip of gnarled branch, also to underside. Minor surface wear elsewhere, with a rich brown patina.
