Description

  • ebony wood
of convex form, tapering from the shoulder to the tail, carved and inlaid with silver wire to simulate the form of a qin, with nine studs, hui, and seven strings and turning pegs, zhen.

Condition

The wristrest has a polished 1.5 x 1cm nick to one of its feet and another similarly sized nick along the side near the base. There are other areas of losses to the other feet (the largest measuring 1.3 x 0.3cm). Age cracks (longest measuring 8cm) and natural nicks can be found on the underside.
