each standing with arms raised holding a musical instrument including yueqin, sheng and gong, the faces defined with curved eyebrows and delicate features, the hair tied into an elaborate chignon atop with neat strands falling behind the shoulders, dressed in long flowing robes elaborately adorned with beaded pendants and incised decoration, fitted wood stands
Condition
The sheng held on one of the figures has a tiny chip to the tip on one of the projections.
The lady holding a gong has a 3cm age crack running down the right side of her face.
In general, all figures have minor age cracks, rubbing to the ivory and the painted
surfaces but are in reasonably good condition. The ivories are of a slightly warmer and creamier tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
