intricately carved and pierced with possible scenes from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, depicting a fully armed military within a tiered pavilion overseeing two equestrian warriors and opposing Di and Wang troops, the other side with a procession including a scholar on a horse accompanied by attendants holding gong and various belongings, all below a narrow band of floral sprays at the rim, the ivory of creamy white tone darkening at the tip, carved wood stand
Condition
The mouth has minor nicks along the rim and there are vertical age cracks running down the side. With the exception of minor chips and nibbling to the extremities, the tusk is in very good condition.
