finely carved as a recumbent buffalo, its legs tucked under, with head turned to one side, the large curled horns supported on its humped back, a boy sitting astride its back, grasping a cord trailing from the buffalo's nostrils over the side, the stone of pale celadon tone suffused with white in areas, polished to a smooth glow, wood stand (2)

Condition

In overall very good condition. There are two natural fissures to the underside of the piece which have been polished down. There are some very minor nibbling to the piece, particularly att the horns. The actual color of the piece is more celadon than shown in the catalogue.
