8vo (7 1/4 x 4 3/4 in; 185 x 120 mm).  Includes: The Little Sister (1949);  The Simple Art of Murder (1950);  The Long Goodbye (1953) and Playback (1954). First two titles in full blue crushed morocco gilt with edges gilt; the others in blue three quarter morocco and linen cloth, gilt, all by Sangorski and Sutcliffe.



Publisher's presentation, inscribed from Jamie Hamilton to his best-selling mystery author, "To Raymond Chandler /with the admiration and / gratitude of Jamie /Hamilton and Staff. / Christmas 1950"  is on the first blank of The Simple Art of Murder. The last title has a  publisher's compliments slip laid in.
