Royal 8vo (10 1/8 x 6 3/4 in.; 256 x 172 mm). 155 fine hand-colored lithographed plates by W.E. Hitchcock and R. Trembly after J.J. and J.W. Audubon (plates 1-31 printed by Nagel & Weingartner, New York and colored by J. Lawrence, remaining plates printed and colored by J.T. Bowen, Philadelphia); some light browning in text, an occasional marginal spot. Modern teal buckram, gilt-stamped red leather title labels on spine.
