- set of four kabinettscheiben with hunting scenes
black paint, light and silver stained glass set in lead, on metal stands
Condition
Overall the condition of the glass is good. There is dirt and some wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few impurities and imperfections to the glass consistent with material. Some of the dark stain has discoloured to greenish-blue hues. The possibly later leading has areas of warping.
The modern metal stands are in good condition with some slight oxidisation in the crevices.

Catalogue Note
These small roundels were often set in to the windows of prominent homes or cabinets, hence the term Kabinettscheiben. A stylistically similar set of roundels can be found in a window with hunting scenes by Veit Hirsvogel the Elder in the Walters Art Gallery in Boston (acc. no. 46.75).
