Catalogue Note

The present misericord compares closely with the work of Rodrigo Alemán, principally his creatures from the choirstalls in the cathedrals at Toledo and Ciudad Rodrigo. Note particularly the lion from the choirstall in Toledo which exhibits a similarly styled mane and comparably modelled claws and teeth (Heim, op. cit. p. 107, no. 38).
