Condition
Original canvas, with seven patches on the reverse, notably five in the lower left quadrant. There are some strokes of what appears to be discoloured retouching in the sky around her mantilla, which do not fluoresce under UV light, some spots of old retouching in her left forearm, and some lines of hairline craquelure, notably in the thick white pigments and around the rose. There is light surface dirt, and the work would benefit from a light surface clean.
Held in a 20th century black painted wood frame, with gold inner and outer accents.
