Catalogue Note
"Yuksel Arslan is a Turkish artist who works far from the spotlight. With the soul of an encyclopediste he covers the arts and science of all eras. He makes documents that, without using brush or paint, he calls 'artures' – something midway between painting and writing. He works with natural colours. He produces series that depict years and years of reading, touching on the prehistoric, on social history, on art, poetry, thought, the sciences... Since 1986 he has been concerned with the history of man, entitled 'Man', focusing on the development of the nervous system and its disorders."
