Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is slightly warmer in the original and the illustration fails to convey the monumental three-dimensionality of the sculpture. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Very close inspection reveals very faint and minor circular hairline scratches towards the front and back of the topside edges of the main square body of the digger structure, and a thin jagged scratch on the side edge of the uppermost armature. There are small specs of unobtrusive media accretion towards the bottom inside edge of one the rear ramps.

Catalogue Note

"I need this very technical work that my truck offers me...This truck is extravagant in form or, more precisely, in ornament. I like the "going all the way" attitude of my projects...This truck is also a play on the environment and the seasons. In the light, it will become even more immaterial. Through it, through the gothic cutouts you will see the sun, the sky, the clouds...After all, all you can really do is perforate what you've made".
The artist interviewed by Gianpierro Pitisci in: Whitewall, no. 6, Summer 2007
