Condition
Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the white of the background in the white panel tends more towards ivory in the original.
Condition: This work is in very good condition. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
white panel: There are a few scattered fine cracks to the black pigment on the hand, only visible upon close inspection.
black panel: There are fine and stable drying cracks in places to the black pigment. There are two small paint losses in the upper left quadrant; one towards the top left corner tip, and one approximately 10cm. below this. There is a stable feather crack above the left of the 'm' in the lower left quadrant.
