Description

of square section with the top panel of the cover finely carved with a scholar and attendant waiting on a terrace for another scholar arriving on a donkey followed by his attendant, framed in a key-fret border, the sides decorated with quatrefoil panels enclosing deer, all reserved on a wan-diaper ground, supported on a shallow base with further panels containing flowers on a similar wan-diaper ground and supported on four bracket feet skirted by a band of lappets

Condition

Good overall condition with horizontal cracks inside the cover and inside the box ; some cracks under the base as well.
