Inscriptions
A quatrain in Persian (unidentified)
'Copied in Bukhara in 976 (1568-9 AD) by Muhammad...'
The second part of the calligrapher's signature has been rubbed, leaving us without his full name, but several calligraphers with the name Muhammad were active at Bukhara in the mid to late 16th century. The style of the illuminated cornerpiece is typical of Bukhara work of the period.
